Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using the Food Trail platform. By accessing our service, you agree to be bound by the conditions outlined below.

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Food Trail website (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Platform. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and any other persons who access the Platform.

2. About Food Trail

Food Trail is a restaurant and eatery discovery platform based in Rwanda. Our Platform helps users discover local restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and other food establishments by providing browsable listings that include menus, working hours, location details, contact information, and photo galleries. Food Trail does not operate, own, or manage any of the listed eateries. We are a discovery and information service only.

3. Use of the Platform

You agree to use the Platform solely for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. Specifically, you must not:

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure.

Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, crawlers) to extract data from the Platform without prior written consent.

Reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from the Platform without authorization.

Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Platform.

Use the Platform in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality.

4. Contact Form Submissions

When you submit a message through our contact form, you provide us with your name, email address, and message content. By submitting this form, you acknowledge that:

The information you provide is accurate and truthful.

We will use your contact details solely to respond to your inquiry.

We do not sell or share your personal contact information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Message submissions are delivered to our team via email and are not stored permanently in a public database.

5. Eatery Listings and Menu Information

Food Trail aggregates and displays information about restaurants and eateries including names, descriptions, locations, working hours, menus, and prices. While we strive to keep this information accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee that all listing details are current at all times. Menu items, prices, and operating hours are subject to change at the discretion of each individual establishment. Food Trail is not responsible for any discrepancies between the information displayed on the Platform and the actual offerings of a listed eatery. We encourage users to contact the establishment directly to confirm details before visiting.

6. Data Sources and Eatery Owner Opt-Out

Some of the eatery information displayed on Food Trail — including establishment names, addresses, contact details, and location data — may be sourced or cross-referenced from Google (including Google Maps and Google Places), as well as other publicly available content providers and directories. We use these sources to help surface accurate and complete listings for users discovering local food establishments in Rwanda.

Food Trail respects the rights of business owners. If you are the verified owner or authorized representative of an eatery listed on our Platform and you do not wish your establishment to appear here, you have the right to request its removal.

To submit a delisting request, please contact us at contact.foodtrail@gmail.com with the subject line “Delisting Request” and include the following:

The full name and location of the eatery you wish to have removed.

Evidence of ownership or authorization (e.g., business registration certificate, official ID, or other verifiable documentation).

A clear statement of your request to have the listing removed from Food Trail.

Upon receipt of a valid request, we will review the submitted documentation and, where ownership is reasonably verified, remove or anonymize the listing within 14 business days. We reserve the right to decline requests that cannot be substantiated with appropriate evidence. If you have questions about this process, please don't hesitate to reach out via our Contact page.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Food Trail Platform — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — is the property of Food Trail or its content suppliers and is protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or otherwise exploit any part of the Platform without express written permission from Food Trail. Eatery images and logos remain the property of their respective owners and are used for informational purposes only.

8. Third-Party Services and Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, including Google Maps for location and navigation purposes. These links are provided for your convenience and do not imply any endorsement by Food Trail. We have no control over the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and conditions, and Food Trail accepts no liability arising from your use of such external services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Food Trail Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content or listings on the Platform. Your use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Food Trail, its operators, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the Platform or any content therein. This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, even if Food Trail has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Modifications to the Platform and Terms

Food Trail reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without notice. We also reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. The “Last updated” date at the bottom of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rwanda.
